Sir Elton John and David Furnish visited the Philippines last week to give the gift of hearing to more than 400 children and adults in need.
Sir Elton and David visited Manila with the Starkey Hearing Foundation to help fit the hearing aids allowing many of the recipients the chance to hear for the very first time.
John and Furnish have been long-time supporters of the Starkey Hearing Foundation. Sir Elton has performed at the So The World May Hear gala awards in 2004 and 2009.
“We are so honored to have the support of Sir Elton John and David Furnish and that they would take the time to help us deliver this precious gift,” Starkey Hearing Foundation founder Bill Austin said in a statement.
The Philippines mission concluded six weeks of travel to the five other countries, Senegal, Ghana, Nigeria, Liberia and India and 13 cities where over 24,000 hearing aids were distributed.
