Six South Australian acts will take to the stage at the Adelaide 500 to perform ahead of Cold Chisel, Live and Robbie Williams.
Alt-Country duo Hana & Jessie-Lee and rock trio Donnarumma will play ahead of Cold Chisel, Kasey Chambers and Bad//Dreems.
Blues-rock band Kitchen Witch and punk band Young Offenders will open for Live and Birds of Tokyo and Neon Tetra and Ollie English will take to the stage ahead of Robbie Williams and Sheppard.
The emerging live music placement is part of Music SA’s Bands On Track initiative.
“Adelaide is a designated UNESCO City of Music and we are constantly recognised as a thriving live music hotspot,” South Australia’s Premier Jay Weatherill said in a statement. The Adelaide 500 concerts create an opportunity for local musicians to be ambassadors for the industry, taking part in an internationally flavoured event that is a major fixture in the live music calendar,” he said.
The program was run from Music SA. “Bands On Track initiative has been a special long standing partnership with Adelaide 500,” said G.M. Lisa Bishop. “It showcases the incredible talent produced by a growing and vibrant music industry in SA. This is a rare career defining opportunity for local artists to perform on a large stage, to a highly receptive crowd and with an outstanding level of technical sound and lighting support”.
Bad//Dreems, who will support Cold Chisel, are a previous Bands On Track winner.
