Noise-pop stars Sleigh Bells say that they’ll be in Australia twice this year.
On the back of their new album Reign Of Terror, one half of hyped Brooklyn duo Sleigh Bells, Derek Miller, has revealed that they’ll visit Australia twice “at least” in 2012.
He spoke to triplej , saying “We absolutely are [touring]. We’re coming over there twice at least on this record. So you guys will be seeing us; we’re coming.”
This follows up the brief but intense debut Australian shows of 2011.
He also revealed that the making of Reign Of Terror was a way of dealing with his mother’s recent illness.
“A lot of life happened to me in a short period of time. We lost my dad in the summer of 2009 and that was not pretty or natural. Then when my Mum got ill I really wanted to go home but she wouldn’t let me come back. She said that I’d found something I loved and people are responding to it so just throw yourself into it. So that’s what I did.
“This band become my life. It is my life. It’s the love of my life. Reign of Terror was my attempt to deal with all of it. I don’t go to therapy or talk about my feelings or emotions or whatever so the record is my sole outlet for that type of thing.”
Reign Of Terror is officially released in Australia tomorrow. Check out the first single ‘Comeback Kid’ below.
