Smashing Pumpkins opened their Splendour In The Grass set with a cover of Kiss ‘Black Diamond’ and also performed ‘Space Oddity’ by David Bowie in the encore.
The 16 song set showcased four tracks from their new album ‘Oceania’ but that was balanced with five from the classic ‘Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness’ including ‘Zero’ and ‘Bullet With Butterfly Wings’ in the opening end of the set.
The Smashing Pumpkins closed the Splendour In The Grass Festival and the band heads to Melbourne for more shows.
The Splendour setlist was a cut down version of the show the 23-song setlist that Smashing Pumpkins performed last week in Perth.
