Snoop Dogg, Booker T. Jones, Charlie Musselwhite and William Bell are some of the names getting together at SXSW for ‘Take Me To The River’, a free show at Austin’s Butler Park on March 15.
The Take Me To The River performance will feature house-band Hi-Rhythm who have played on 27 gold and platinum albums.
The ‘Take Me To The River’ live performance will coincide with the world premiere of Take Me To The River during SXSW Film on March 11. The film document legendary musicians who came together to record a new album with today’s stars and reflect on the music of Memphis.
SXSW will also feature the ‘Memphis Means Music’ session with Al Bell, William Bell, Frayser Boy, Cody Dickinson, Robert Gordon, Booker T Jones, Lawrence Mitchell, and Martin Shore talking about their careers and Memphis. The session will take place on Friday March 14 at 11am at the Austin Convention Center.
