Bo Diddley’s son Elias has been arrested in Gainesville, Florida for trespassing in a plaza named after his dad.

56-year old Elias Anthony McDaniel was taking part in an demonstration at the Bo Diddley Community Plaza in Gainesville inspired by the Wall St protests earlier this week.
“This is my father’s park, McDaniels told the Florida Alligator. “For them to arrest me in that plaza is ludicrous.” He was handcuffed but police released the protesters moments later.
The City of Gainseville dedicated the plaza to its most famous citizen, the legendary rock and roll pioneer Bo Diddley in 2009. The Obama’s dog Bo is named after Bo Diddley.
