Don Cornelius, the creator of the Soul Train music TV show, has been found dead at his home in Sherman Oaks.
Cornelius is said to have taken his own life by gun-shot. He was pronounced dead at a near-by hospital. Police investigations have found no sign of foul play.
Don Cornelius was the man behind Soul Train, the must view, must play soul music show that featured the music of great soul acts like Earth, Wind & Fire, Aretha Franklin, Prince, David Bowie, Hall & Oates and Destiny’s Child.
The show ran on American television between October 1971 until March 2006. Cornelius hosted the show until 1993. And then served as Executive Producer.
