Sounds Australia, Australia’s artist representatives at SXSW, have confirmed that no Australian’s were killed or injured in the SXSW tragedy which claimed two lives in Austin, Tx early this morning.
A man driving a silver Toyota slammed into a crowd of music delegates attending the SXSW music conference outside MoHawks on Red River and 10th at around 12:30am Thursday.
Two people were killed, 23 injured.
Glenn Dickie from Sounds Australia reports, “So as far as we’ve heard from the police here, which is very limited, no Australian’s were injured in accident at SXSW. So hard for them to know at this stage though”.
Sounds Australia is keeping a watch out for Australian’s at SXSW and is confident that no-one from the Australia was involved in the tragedy.

Austin Police are now question a man over the incident. “We owe it to the victims and their families to gather the evidence we need to bring them justice.” said Austin Police Chief Art Axecedo.
55 Australian acts and over 800 Australians have travelled to Austin, Tx for SXSW.
