St Germain’s airy 2000 electro-jazz classic Tourist remastered and released digitally for the first time.
In 2000 French musician Ludovic Navarre, better known as St Germain, released the landmark electronic jazz fusion album Tourist on the legendary Blue Note label. It swiftly became the soundtrack to sultry cool, and a restaurant, catwalk and café staple for years.
The album went on to sell four million copies around the world and is currently just under Double Platinum status in Australia.
This might well change with the re-release of a remastered version of the album digitally for the first time.
It will be available on iTunes with a bonus live track ‘Touristes’ (performed by French singer and author Claude Nougaro) as well as on double vinyl with an mp3 download coupon.
The remastered Tourist will be released on June 29. Refresh your memory with ‘Sure Thing’ below.
