Status Quo Reputation Goes Down Down Further In New Ad

One-time British rock legends Status Quo have lowered their reputation “down down” even further. Their latest supermarket ad is horrible.

The new ad features a polar bear playing a guitar, a drumming walrus and clapping penguins.

Coles recruited Status Quo for their advertisements in Australia in mid 2012. The band not only licenced the use of their classic ‘Down Down’ and ‘Whatever You Want’ to the supermarket chain, they also re-recorded the songs with new lyrics and appear in the ads.

The latest ad is for frozen foods.

The once mighty Quo has slumped even further in credibility with the latest commercial featuring people yelling out “chicken tenders”, “blueberries” and “frozen peas” through the song.

The ads are only screened on television in Australia but can be viewed worldwide via YouTube for the rest of the world to decide.
