The new “supergroup”, the Rides, will tour this September in support of their debut album Can’t Get Enough. The Rides are Stephen Stills (Buffalo Springfield, Crosby Stills and Nash), Barry Goldberg (Electric Flag) and Kenny Wayne Shepherd.
The Rides formed when Stills and Goldberg were brought together for a writing session. Barry said “We connected on so many things, started jamming, and soon had begun writing our first song.”
Former wunderkind Kenny Wayne Shepherd later joined the two veterans to form a blues powerhouse. Shepherd commented “The Rides are a perfect mix of generations, where three musicians who love and play the blues collide and create music that goes beyond all our other individual life experiences and career achievement.”
The album is inspired by the 1968 album Super Session on which Stills played with the late Mike Bloomfield, Al Kooper and Goldberg.
