Stereophonics will release a Volume two of their current album ‘Graffiti on the Train’ and there may even be a third album as well.

“That’s the working plan right now,” singer Kelly Jones tells Noise11.com.

Stereophonics prolific studio recording splurge happened after they built their own studio. “We found a place in London. We put all of our equipment in there that we had gathered over the years and built a space and went into work everyday, really,” Kelly said.

The abundance of songs comes after the band’s longest ever gap between albums… three years. “On paper it looks like three years but it was the end of one year, the beginning of another and a year in the middle of it,” he says. “It was the same process in many way. Because we didn’t set ourselves a deadline and we didn’t set ourselves a release date and going in every day, we ended up recording 35 songs and mixed 26. We were going to do a double album and then we decided people’s attention spans and the way records are sold don’t really cater to it. So we decided to possibly just do the 10 tracks now and another 10 tracks later. In essence we probably recorded three albums worth of material in a year so it saves time now. In the future we can carry on touring and we’ve already got the albums to release.”

‘Graffiti On The Train’ is out now through Warner Music.
