With the Stevie Nicks and The Pretenders Australian tour looming, here is a look at Nicks and The Pretenders by the hits.

Stevie’s biggest solo hit was ‘Stop Draggin’ My Heart Around (with Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers) from her debut solo ‘Bella Donna’ in 1981. Note by then she was already a superstar with thanks to Fleetwood Mac but even before the Mac she was half of the duo Buckingham Nicks with Lindsay Buckingham. Their 1973 self-titled album is considered their “audition” for Fleetwood Mac.

Stevie’s five biggest solo hits are:

1. Stop Draggin’ My Heart Around (no 10, 1981)

2. Sometimes It’s a Bitch (no 18, 1991)

3. Stand Back (no 20, 1982)

4. I Can’t Wait (no 20, 1986)

5. Talk To Me (no 22, 1985)

The Pretenders debut album came along in 1979, one year after the band formed with former NME music writer Chrissie Hynde on lead vocals.

The Pretenders would dominate Australian radio through-out the 80s.

The Pretenders Top 5 hits in Australia are:

Brass In Pocket (no 2, 1980)

Hymn To Her (no 7, 1986)

Don’t Get Me Wrong (no 8, 1986)

Toto Returns To Melbourne #Review

Toto’s 2025 setlist focuses on the heritage of the band. The setlist was interesting. Compared to how it was curated for Australia in 2019 this time Toto kept to the albums of the 1900s. Mind you, there were no complaints from the audience for doing that. The biggest hits came from those early years.
