Stephen Stills, Barry Goldberg and Kenny Wayne Shepherd, known together as The Rides, have completed their second album.
Shepherd talked to the site Blues Matters!, telling them “we just finished mastering our second album. Now we’re working on the artwork and release dates but the record is great. It’s almost all new original songs that we’ve worked on, and I definitely think it’s an improvement on the last record that defines the sound of this band.”
He went on to say that the band operates as a unit with all three members writing and recording.
The group released their debut album, Can’t Get Enough, in 2013, hitting number 39 on the Billboard Albums chart. Stills (Buffalo Springsfield, Crosby, Stills and Nash) called it “the blues band of my dreams” while Barry Goldberg (Bob Dylan, Electric Flag) said “Just hanging out and working with masters like Stephen and Kenny was one of the most soulful times I can ever remember having in the studio.”
