Sting, the AFL’s worst kept secret, has been officially confirmed.
Despite numerous denials, the AFL has announced the performance the legend will perform at the pre-game show. “It’s a great honour to be invited to perform at the biggest day in Australian sport,” Sting said.
“I always have such an enjoyable time in Australia and I’m very much looking forward to returning to Melbourne next month.”
Sting can only be seen for fans attending the AFL but The Living End and Vance Joy will perform at the free for all show after the match.
AFL Chief Executive Officer Gillon McLachlan said, “I’m excited to announce that Sting will feature alongside home-grown acts Vance Joy and The Living End as part of the Pre-Game Show at this year’s AFL Grand Final.”
“Sting is much loved the world over, and we couldn’t be more thrilled that he will join us on the biggest day of our year.
“Sting, Vance Joy and The Living End will no doubt entertain fans of all ages for those who see them live at the MCG or during the Seven Network’s broadcast,” he said.
