Stone Temple Pilots Recruit Reality Show Contestant As New Singer

Stone Temple Pilots will continue with reality show contestant Jeff Gutt as their new lead singer.

Gutt was the runner-up for season three of The X Factor in the USA.

Stone Temple Pilots started auditioning for the job in 2016. Gutt auditioned in September and was hired in May, 2017. He has been working with members Dean and Robert DeLeo and Eric Kretz writing and recording new music at Renondo Beach, California.

Stone Temple Pilots original singer Scott Weiland died in 2015. The band performed live last in March 2016 with Chester Bennington as lead singer.
