Sisters will be doing it for Pure Pop Records with Stonefield announced as the headline act for the PurePop Raise The Roof benefit next week in St Kilda.
The cream of Melbourne’s music community will gather at the Prince Bandroom on Friday May 11 to help PurePop comply with soundproofing requirements for his unique record store PurePop Records.
Owner Dave Stevens puts on live acts in the courtyard of Pure Pop four days a week and has been doing so for years but recently a neighbour complained about the noise. This lead to a curfew for the store restricting music fans to the free entertainment every week at Pure Pop.
The line-up for Raise The Roof is now Paul Kelly, Ron S Peno & The Superstitions, Henry Wagons, The Underground Lovers, Charles Jenkins, Davey Lane, Alex Lashlie, Pony Face, Hamish Cowan of Cordrazine and Chris Russell’s Chicken Walk with Stonefield rounding off the night.
“All the artists are donating their time and talents in support of Pure Pop and live music in Melbourne and we have more surprise announcements to come, so get your tickets now,” Dave said.
“We can’t wait to raise the roof at the Prince Bandroom, listen to loads of great loud music and raise funds to secure Pure Pop’s courtyard stage for future generations of artists and fans.”
Tickets are $50 from purepop.com.au or princebandroom.com.au
