Straightjacket Fits and Dimmer will play two Australian dates in September, their first Australian shows since 1994.

New Zealand’s Straightjacket Fits reformed in 2018 and played a limited number of New Zealand shows last year.

Frontman Shayne Carter’s 2019 Straightjacket Fits line-up will include original members John Collie and Mark Petersen.

After Straightjacket Fits broke-up Carter formed Dimmer. Dimmer will open for the shows. Dimmer members James Duncan and Vaughan Williams will also play in the Straightjacket Fits line-up. Straightjacket Fits bass player David Wood passed away in 2010.

Straightjacket Fits formed in Dunedin in 1986. They released five albums. ‘Melt’ (1990) reached no 13 in New Zealand, ‘Blow’ (1993) reached no 12.

Dimmer’s debut single ‘Crystalator’ came out in 1995.
