Sublime have recently announced a reformation tour with new singer/guitarist Rome and now Australian dates have been added to the list.
The band formed in 1988 in Long Beach, CA with influences pushing them to the periphery of the skate-punk scene that was in its infancy at the time – a position that would work in their favour, keeping them from being lumped into any particular style.
Their career was cut short in 1996 after the band’s front man Bradley Novell died of a heroin overdose at the age of 28.
In 2008, 21-year-old singer Rome found himself introduced to Sublime’s Bud Gaugh and Eric Wilson. This meeting eventually led to what was going to be a one-off performance in Nevada, followed by another one-off performance at the Smokeout Festival, followed by a tour.
So, long story short, they’re coming to Australia. Want to see them? Well you can at any of the following shows:
APRIL
4 – Cooly Hotel, Gold Coast
5 – The HiFi, Brisbane
7 – UNSW Roundhouse, Sydney
9 – Palace Theatre, Melbourne
10 – HQ Complex, Adelaide
