Susan Boyle keeps asking friends to set her up on a date.
The 52-year-old Scottish singer is yet to settle down, but is on the lookout for her perfect man. She is hoping her loved ones will help find a possible suitor for her.
‘I want to find a man but it’s hard with all the travelling I do. I really want to start going on dates and I’ve asked my friends to set me up with a good man – if they can find one,’ she told British newspaper The Sun.
“I’d like to settle down one day.’
Susan also spoke about making her movie debut in The Christmas Candle. Although she was originally only supposed to record a song for the movie’s album, Susan impressed film bosses and she ended up securing a kissing scene with Braveheart actor James Cosmo, much to her delight.
‘I have my very first husband – which is very exciting. It’s been a long wait,’ she smiled. ‘I had to kiss him, too, as we had a kissing scene. It was my first on-screen kiss. It was lovely. I didn’t know about the kissing scene when I signed up, but I wasn’t complaining.
‘I won’t take this any further in case I embarrass him.’
Susan is affectionately known as ‘SuBo’ by many of her fans. However, she doesn’t like the nickname as she thinks it sounds like a Brazilian soccer star.
The star is about to kick off her first live tour and she can’t wait to take to the stage. She will be performing 24 tracks, among them covers of her favourite Adele song and Tina Turner’s River Deep – Mountain High.
Susan has wanted to go on the road for a long time.
‘I’m very excited, it’s long overdue. I’ve been on at my manager for some time to let me go live. He kept telling me, ‘You’re not ready yet,’ but this time he feels I am,’ she explained before revealing how she has changed her diet in preparation for the shows.
‘I eat a lot of fruit and cut out the sweets. I’ve had to, for dietary reasons. I don’t want a bum like a garage. It’s for my own health. I have a very sweet tooth, I love chocolate.’
