Sweden has won Eurovision 2015 with Russia in close second place followed Italy in third place. Guest nation Australia came in fifth following a star performance by Guy Sebastian.
The 60th Eurovision Song Contest was held in Vienna in host nation Austria.
Måns Zelmerlöw from Sweden took first place after scoring 365 points with the song ‘Heroes’. It was Sweden’s sixth win in 60 years of Eurovision.
Polina Gagarina from Russia came second performing ‘A Million Voices’ and scoring 303 points. Third place went to Il Volo from Italy with ‘Grande Amore’ on 292 points.
According to the official rules of the contest, “The final outcome was decided by a 50:50 split between professional juries and televoting from all 40 participants. The jury votes were decided during the Jury Final last night and the televotes decided during tonight’s show. The 27 finalists were made up of 20 qualifiers from the first and second Semi-Finals held on the 19th and 21st of May and seven automatic qualifiers including the Big 5 countries (France, Germany, Italy, Spain and the United Kingdom), host country Austria and Australia”.
Guy Sebastian performed the new song ‘Tonight Again’, written especially for the event.
