Much-buzzed Swedish folk sisters First Aid Kit give us the first taste of their new album.
The hype has been building for the latest gentle folk sensation First Aid Kit, who toured widely on their 2010 debut The Big Black & Blue throughout North America, Europe and Australia.
Since then they’ve been courted by Jack White, collaborated with Bright Eyes, and almost brought Patti Smith to tears by performing her song ‘Dancing Barefoot’ at the Polar Music Prize.
Their second album is to be titled The Lion’s Roar, for release on January 23. They’ve delivered a clip for the first single ‘Emmylou’.
Yep, Emmylou Harris, Gram Parsons, Johnny and June Carter Cash references abound and the clip was shot at the Joshua Tree National Park on Parsons’ birthday, suiting the new, countrified sound.
