SXSW meet-ups will take place in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane this week.

The first event will happen tonight (Monday) in Sydney, then tomorrow (Tuesday) in Melbourne and Brisbane.
According to Sxsw Aussie rep Phil Tripp, “We kick off at 5:30 with drinks, 6:30 with speakers and questions and rock on to 8 with networking. I’ll be attending at and moderating the one in Melbourne tomorrow. No RSVP needed.
“We have over 640 registrants now, 55 bands and their crews which makes this the largest number of Australians in one place in North America since the 1996 Olympics. We also have three finalists in the SXSW Interactive Awards and eight Australian films showing in the SXSW Film Festival. More to come!
“We have three meetups happening in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane where those who are registered like you, band members and their management, previous attendees and those wanting to go this year or in the future can network and get advice. They are free. Drinks start at 5:30, a panel of experts/veterans convenes at 6:30 and questions are welcome. We’ll break up about 8pm, or later. No need to rsvp.
