Artists have until the end of Sunday (Texas time) to apply to showcase at SXSW in Austin next March.
In 2013, over 2200 acts from all over the world performed at the South By Southwest music conference and festival. 600 were from outside the USA representing 55 countries.
Australia has had a major presence at SXSW. In 2013, 42 Australian acts including 360, Ball Park Music, Flume, Emma Louise, Haitus Kaiyote, The Audreys, The Rubens, Vance Joy and Vaudeville Smash went to Austin to perform.
One of the annual highlights of SXSW is the Aussie BBQ where the Australian acts gather to play over 14 hours across three stages.
SXSW Music 2014 is on from March 11 to 16, 2013.
The cut-off for artist applications for SXSW 2014 for Australia is Monday October 14, at 3:59pm (AEDT) (US Sunday October 13, 2013 at 11:59pm (CDT) / (UK Monday, October 13, 5:59am (BST)
