Austin Police are calling for anyone who witnessed the horrific incident when a driver killed two people on Red River, Austin to contact them.
At around 12:30am Thursday morning a car ran ploughed into a crowd of people outside MoHawks music venue on the corner of Red River and 10th, killing two people and injuring 23.
Police have taken an individual into custody following the accident but will not release the names of the victims until family has been notified.
Individual is in custody. More details shortly. The names of the deceased will not be released until proper notifications have been made.

Austin Police want anyone who witnessed the tragedy to contact them.

Sound Australia confirms that no Australian’s were injured in the accident.
News is very limited but from what we understand and have heard no Australians were injured in the accident SXSW tonight.

The accident occurred during the SXSW music festival. With music events going through until 2am in Austin during the conference the streets of the city, and especially around Red River, have thousands of people walking from venue to venue at that time.
