‘ME!’ is the first new music for Taylor Swift since her 2017 ‘Reputation’ album.
Taylor Swift’s first album was the self-titled country record of 2006. It sold 5.7 million copies in the USA. Her biggest US success was the second album ‘Fearless’ in 2008, labelled Country Pop. By the time she released the fifth album ‘1989’ in 2014 the term Country had completely vanished from her musical description.
‘ME!’ is pure pop. Swift wrote the song with Urie and New Zealander Joel Little. Little is listed as producer.
Joel Little was a member of NZ band Goodnight Nurse. They had two Top 5 albums in New Zealand. He produced and co-wrote the debut album for NZ’s Kids of 88 and co-wrote Lorde’s ‘Royals’. He has also produced Broods single ‘Bridges’ and their album ‘Evergreen’.
