Taylor Swift crossover Pop album ‘1989’ is the biggest selling album of 2015 so far in the USA and so far also the only album to sell more than one million copies.
According to Nielsen Music ‘1989’ has sold 1,328,000 copies year-to-date in the USA, not including streams (SEAs) or individual tracks (TEAs).
Swift’s ‘1989’ album momentum has been in part that the album has not had a stand-out hit. No songs from the album have made the Top 10 singles sales although ‘Shake It Off’, ‘Style’ and ‘Blank Space’ scored points for radio play and streams.
‘Shake It Off’ was streamed 155,736,000 times in 2015. ‘Blank Space’ was streamed 138,610,000 times and received 388,000 plays on radio, network or satellite. ‘Style’ was played 388,000 times on radio, network or satellite.
‘1989’ has generated 6,834,000 song sales for 2015 and a total sales volume (TEAs and SEAs included) of 2,011,000 sales.
