Taylor Swift swept the board at last night’s Billboard Music Awards.
The country-turned-pop singer scooped a grand total of eight trophies including the coveted Best Female and Top Billboard 200 Album prizes for her record 1989.
She beat out stiff competition in her successful categories, including battling with Iggy Azalea, Ariana Grande, Katy Perry and Meghan Trainor in Best Female category.
As well as taking to the stage to collect her hoard of accolades, the 25-year-old also premiered her hot new song Bad Blood, which features Kendrick Lamar. Taylor has been teasing fans for weeks, with posters being unveiled starring some of Taylor’s famous friends. Stars such as Ellie Goulding, Cara Delevingne and Selena Gomez appear in the star-studded video for the track.
While Iggy may have lost out to her singing rival for some of the awards, she didn’t go home empty handed. The Australian rapper managed to take gold in the Top Rap Artist, Top Streaming Artist and Top Rap Song categories, along with Charli XCX for their hit song Fancy. For the men, Pharrell Williams fared well at the ceremony. He managed to pick up Top R&B Song for Happy, Top R&B Album for G I R L and Top R&B Artist. However he missed out on Top Male Artist to Sam Smith, with the British star also bagging Top Radio Songs Artist.
