Just days after Ted Nugent was cleared of making threats against the President by the Secret Service, he is once again in trouble with a government agency.
The Motor City Madman has plead guilty to killing a black bear three years ago while hunting in Alaska. He was there filming his wildlife show Spirit of the Wild and, days earlier, had wounded a bear using a bow and arrow. Even though he didn’t kill the bear, the law says that it counts as if he did and his one-per-year limit had been reached. Killing the second bear and transporting it put him in violation of the federal Lacey Law, which is a misdemeanor.
Nugent was fined $10,000, is barred from hunting or fishing in Alaska or on Forest Service properties for two years and must make a PSA on knowing the hunting laws which will be shown on his show every other week for a year.
Ted has also had one of his shows cancelled as a result of the National Gun Association Meeting comments that led to his visit from the Secret Service. He was removed from a June 23 concert at Fort Knox whose spokesperson said “After learning of opening act Ted Nugent’s recent public comments about the president of the United States, Fort Knox leadership decided to cancel his performance on the installation.”
Nugent had the last word. In a Twitter post today he wrote, “The evil corrupt gvt thugs make me stronger evryday. ThankU goofballs”.
