The Quin sisters are currently working on their first album since 2009’s Sainthood with three producers Greg Kurstin (The Shins, Sia), Mike Elizondo (Regina Spektor, Mastodon), and Justin Meldal-Johnsen (Neon Trees, M83).

Tegan said in a press release, “Sara and I are trying to step outside of our comfort zones and push ourselves to the extreme with this one so get ready for a whole new T+S sound! We strive to keep things fresh and exciting with each new record and I definitely feel like we’re accomplishing that so far.”

Their work with Elizondo has just finished, they’re about to begin work with Kurstin, and the Meldal-Johnsen sessions are planned for May.

They’re also delivering missives from the studio every Tuesday in the form of their Carpool Confessional YouTube videos, with guests like Sia and AFI’s Hunter Burgan.
