The next project from The Beatles’ Apple Corp. is a restoration of their 1967 movie ‘Magical Mystery Tour’ and for the first time ever it is going to the movies.
Despite their first two movies ‘A Hard Day’s Night’ and ‘Help’ being screened in theatres, ‘Magical Mystery Tour’ went straight to television. However, on September 27, 2012, it will finally have its first ever theatre release.
In September 1967, The Beatles put their crew on a bus headed out along London’s A30. The filmed results became the Magical Mystery Tour movie.
Things happened ad-hoc in The Beatles day. About Magical Mystery Tour Ringo Starr said, “Paul said, ‘Look I’ve got this idea’ and we said ‘great!’ and all he had was this circle and a little dot on the top – that’s where we started.”
A special boxed deluxe edition of ‘Magical Mystery Tour’ will be released on October 8 (except USA October 9).
The new version of the film will feature unseen footage from the original movie and three new edits of some of the song performances.
‘Magical Mystery Tour’ has been remixed for 5.1 and stereo and will be available on DVD and for the first time on Blu-ray.
