The Beatles cartoon classic ‘Yellow Submarine’ is heading back to the big screen for one day only.
The movie will have its re-run on UK and Irish cinemas on 8 July, 2018. That’s a few days short of the 50th anniversary of the movie that premiered on 17 July 2018.
No actual Beatles were harmed in the making of the film, mainly because they weren’t involved with it. Coronation Street star Geoffrey Hughes played Paul McCartney, Paul Angelis of the series ‘Z Cars’ was Ringo Starr, John Clive who had starred in movies ‘The Italian Job’, ‘The Pink Panther Strikes Again’ and ‘A Clockwork Orange’ played John Lennon and one time actor Peter Batten played his one and only role as George Harrison in the movie.
The Yellow Submarine movie showcased new Beatles songs ‘All Together Now’, ‘Only A Northern Song’, ‘Hey Bulldog’ and ‘Its All too Much’. The movie title had previously been released on the ‘Revolver’ album.
To prepare for the ‘Yellow Submarine’ 50th anniversary The Beatles have started a new Facebook page.
