The Cat Empire’s Felix Riebl has a solo album ‘Paper Doors’ on the way and Katy Steele is his featured singer on the first track ‘Wasting Time’.
‘Paper Doors’ is Riebl’s second solo album. It was recorded with Andy Baldwin in 2015 but held back to get out of the way of The Cat Empire’s ‘Rising With The Sun’.
Fans have already previewed two songs, ‘Shadows’ and ‘In Your Arms’ with Martha Wainwright.
The video for ‘Wasting Time’ was directed by Thomas Henning, Felix says of the song, “Wasting Time started as a regular ballad, then I got stuck, and in frustration banged my left hand on the low octaves, something sparked, then the hook followed. It’s the lucky shock. Later, Katy completely distinct voice brought a special edge to the performance.”
