The Crazy World Of Arthur Brown To Tour For First Time Since 1969

I Am the God of Hellfire…

The scream came from radios everywhere in late 1968, ushering in one of the stranger pieces of psychedelia to make it to the upper heights of the Singles chart, Fire by the Crazy World of Arthur Brown.

As if the song weren’t beyond the norm, the performances of Arthur Brown were even stranger. He would take the stage in what could be considered voodoo makeup, would set his helmet (and, sometimes, his head) on fire and, every once in awhile, strip naked, an antic that got him deported from Italy.

The group only stayed together for three years, disbanding in 1970 but reformed in 2000 and have been going strong in Britain and Europe ever since but it wasn’t until an appearance earlier this year at Psycho Las Vegas that Brown got a taste of current American crowds.

The Zim Zam Zim Tour is named after the band’s 2013 release and will play eight shows in major cities with Electric Citizen opening.
