Aussie supergroup The Dead Daisies will join an all-star Australian line-up headlined by Jimmy Barnes for A Day On The Green in Victoria and South Australia in February.
The Dead Daisies are Australians Jon Stevens (Noiseworks/INXS) and David Lowy (Red Phoenix/Mink), with Charley Drayton (The X-pensive Winos/The Cult), Richard Fortus (Guns ‘N’ Roses/Thin Lizzy), Darryl Jones (The Rolling Stones) and Dizzy Reed (Guns ‘N’ Roses).
Jones recently joined the band in-between the Rolling Stones ‘50 Years and counting’ commitments and recorded new music with the Daisies recently in Los Angeles.
Jones replaced former Thin Lizzy bass player Marco Mendoza who has been recruited back to the next generation of Lizzy in Black Star Riders. The Dead Daisies will head to the UK to tour with Black Star Riders this month.
The Dead Daisies recently returned to Australia for more rehearsals after wrapping up their US tour with Alice In Chains and Jane’s Addiction.
The Dead Daisies will play A Day On The Green at Annie’s Lane, Clare Valley, South Australia on February 8, 2014 and Rochford Wines, Yarra Valley, Victoria on February 14, 2014. Richard Clapton, Ross Wilson and James Reyne will play with The Dead Daisies and Jimmy Barnes at Clare Valley. Daryl Braithwaite and Baby Animals will be on the Yarra Valley event with the Dead Daisies and Jimmy Barnes.
