For the first time ever, the Doobie Brothers will join the String Cheese Incident at next year’s LOCKN’ Music Festival for a show dubbed “The Doobie Incident”.
LOCKN’, in Arlington, VA, is know for putting together collaborations by great artists and have managed to pair the two bands, who have never played together before.
The Doobie Brothers’ Patrick Simmons told Examiner.com “Music is so damn fun, and then along comes something to ramp the fun factor up 150%! I can hardly wait to see what happens with this chemistry experiment. Thanks to the String Cheese guys for taking this step with us into the extemporaneous zone. We’ll be honing our chops, getting ready to jam. There could be no better place to for this to happen than this epic Festival! It’s gonna be a great time!”
This year’s LOCKN’ Festival will be held from September 10 to 13. Others already announced for 2015’s show include Keller Williams’ Grateful Gospel, the Tedeschi Trucks Band and Widespread Panic.
