Sweden’s The Hellacopters have reformed and have played their first gig in eight years.
The band did their last gig before the break-up in Stockholm on October 26, 2008. They announced their break-up with one year’s notice.
The Hellacopters were back together for the Sweden Rock Festival to mark the 20th anniversary of the release of their debut album. The performance was announced in October 2015.
The band formed in Stockholm in 1994. Singer Nick Andersson had been drummer for Entombed and was also singer for Backyard Babies. The Hellacopters released seven albums, all of which went Top 40 in Sweden.
The reunion marked the 20th anniversary of the debut album ‘Supershitty To The Max’. Their biggest album ‘By The Grace of God’ reached no 2 in Sweden in 2002.
