Rob Skipper of UK indie rock band The Holloways has been confirmed dead at age 28.
The Holloways formed in 2004 and broke up in 2011 after two albums.
The Holloways had a dabbling of hit records in the UK including ‘Two left Feet’ (no 33, 2006), ‘Generator’ (no. 30, 2006) and ‘Jukebox Sunrise’ (no 4, Indie chart 2009) but failed to make a mainstream impression on the charts.
They toured with Babyshambles, The Pogues, The Kooks, The Rakes, The Wombats, The Pigeon Detectives and CSS and played at Glastonbury several times.
Skipper had a side-band The Musical Differences during his tenure with The Holloways and that band continued up until his death. The Musical Differences had recently been in the studio with Clive Langer (Elvis Costello/Madness). Ron Wood of the Rolling Stones was also a fan and contributed guitar to their first recording in 2009.
A cause of death for Rob Skipper is yet to be revealed.
