Sydney band The Jezabels have done a deal to release their album ‘Prisoner’ in America with US label Mom + Pop records, home to Neon Indian, Metric and Joshua Radin as well as Dine Alone in Canada, who release City and Colour and Alexisonfire.
The Jezabels will head off to the USA then onto Canada and over to the UK next week. They will head back to Australia for Homebake, The Falls Festival, Southband and The Big Day Out.
And this week, their new single ‘Trycolour’ was released. “‘Trycolour is our 90’s song. At least it starts that way, and then morphs into a dystopian-pop-nightmare. But that’s fitting I think, because we are in many respects a band with strong contrasts. We wrote this song quite quickly, it was actually the first song to be completed on the album. I think that’s because it does have a natural type of movement to it. Nik’s drums are the guiding force for the rest of us to perform upon.” Samuel Lockwood.
The video for ‘Trycolour’ was directed by Sam Kristofski for Pharm Productions.
