Tim Rogers Polyxeni, Jinja Safari, Chet Faker and more will appear to showcase the collaborative compilation The Key Of Sea Volume II live.
The original compilation The Key Of Sea brought together some of Australia’s most-respected musical name, with some of the most promising artists from a refugee or migrant background to create some unique collaborations.
It returns for a second volume, which features more fascinating partnerships by artists like Paul Kelly, Lanie Lane, Brous, Kinfe Geshu, Chet Faker, Kim Salmon, Murtaza Jafari, David Bridie, Jinja Safari, The Cambodian Space Project, Sietta, Clubfeet and The Royal Swazi Spa.
To celebrate the release of the album, a one-off concert has been announced for December. This special event sees The Tim Rogers Polyxeni, Jinja Safari with Kinfe Geshu, Brous with Awaz, Chet Faker with The Royal Swazi Spa, David Bridie with Hein Arumisore, and The Tiger & Me with Murtaza Jafari appear on stage.
Special guests come in the form of Rockwiz’s Brian Nankervis and journalist Waleed Aly (who also appears on the album). The show takes place at the newly refurbished Hamer Hall on December14 as part of the Arts Centre Melbourne’s 2012/13 Summer Series.
The Key Of Sea Volume II will be available next Friday 19 October and tickets for the concert will go on sale the same day from the Arts Centre online or on 1300 182 183.
