Las Vegas band The Killers have been confirmed as the AFL Grand Final entertainment act for 2017.
Word of The Killers at the AFL was first reported to 3AW’s Rumour File last month. The rumour has now been confirmed with the band set to play at the Grand Final in Melbourne on September 30.
The Killers broke internationally with their debut album ‘Hot Fuss’ in 2004. Their first single ‘Mr Brightside’ reached no 29 in Australia, the follow-up ‘Somebody Told Me’ reached no 17. The album ‘Hot Fuss’ was a no 1 record in Australia selling over 300,000 copies.
The second album ‘Sam’s Town’ delivered a no 2 hit and a Top 10 hit with ‘When You Were Young’.
2008’s ‘Day & Age’ album reached no 4 and delivered the hit song ‘Human’.
2012’s ‘Battle Born’ reached no 2.
