The release of the new Libertines album, Anthems For Doomed Youth, has gone back one week, from September 4th to September 11th, to allow for more special events.
The Libertines apologise for the delay and have made two more songs from the album: Anthem For Doomed Youth and Glasgow Coma Scale Blues available now when you preorder the album. Scroll down to listen.
Anthems For Doomed Youth, released through Virgin EMI Records, was produced by Jake Gosling and recorded at Karma Sound Studios, Thailand, over 6 weeks during April and May 2015. It is The Libertines’ third album and their first in eleven years. It will be available as a standard twelve song CD, deluxe CD, 12′ vinyl and digital download.
A pop-up shop, Bucket Shop, opens on August 24th from the ‘Rock ‘N’ Roll Rescue’ charity shop situated next door to the Dublin Castle at 96 Parkway. The store will be selling and displaying rare memorabilia, trinkets, treasures and art and will be open until September 4th. Every purchase will include a donation to the Rock N Roll Rescue charity. Coffee will also be being served courtesy of ‘Tim Peaks’. Opening times are week one 12PM – 8:00 PM, week two 1PM – 9:00PM
Somewhere Over The Railings opens the day after the bands headlining appearance at the Reading Festival, on August 31st for 5 days at The Dublin Castle, 94 Parkway, Camden Town, NW1 7AN. Tickets for all the Dublin Castle events sold out within two minutes of going on sale, all proceeds of which will be going to ‘Rock ‘n’ Roll Rescue’. Art directed and curated by the band, the week of events at The Dublin Castle will feature a new photo exhibition, a Libertines pub quiz, a new documentary by Roger Sargent filmed in Thailand whilst making ‘Anthems For Doomed Youth,’ playbacks of the new album prior to release, exclusive prizes and plenty of surprises.
‘Rock ‘n’ Roll Rescue’ in conjunction with the Dublin Castle sells musical instruments, amps, vinyl, CDs, cassettes, T-shirts, gold records. and donates to local charities, such as the local food bank (‘The Trussel Trust’) and ‘Food For All’ which feeds 1000 people a week.
