The upcoming Australian shows for The Monkees are likely the last time they will tour anywhere in the world.
Mike Nesmith referred to the band as being “a bit long in the tooth now,” but said it is the best they have ever sounded.
In a recent Facebook post Nesmith said, “The shows are fun, the songs are good and fun to play, but things are a bit long of tooth now – not that that is a bad thing, but it’s a bit like trying to learn new dance steps.
“I have had a good time, so does Mick, I think – but there is less of a sharp point these days of television.
“I like the Net giving me a voice. At least you all know it’s me and not some bonehead whining about how poorly I play.”
The Monkees will tour Australia for David Roy Williams.
The dates are:
12 June, Brisbane, QPAC
15 June, Melbourne, Palais Theatre
16 June, Perth, Astor Theatre
18 June, Sydney, Opera House
