The new album by The Original Seekers ‘Back To Our Roots’ has given the iconic Australia act a number one debut on the ARIA Blues and Roots chart.
‘Back To Our Roots’ features new male singer Michael Cristiano as the fourth voice of The Seekers. Judith Durham has retired from the band.
With an all-male line-up The Original Seekers have revisited songs they used to sing as an original all-male band with Ken Ray prior to Judith joining the group. The album features classics such as ‘The Midnight Special’, ‘Adios Amour’, ‘Reason to Believe’ and a new version of Bruce Woodley’s ‘I Am Australian’.
The Seekers (with Judith) had their first hit album in 1963 with ‘Introducing The Seekers’.
The Original Seekers will perform songs from ‘Back To Our Roots’ live around Australia in October and November.
The Original Seekers dates
13 October, Brisbane, QPAC Concert Hall
20 October, Sydney, City Recital Hall
