The Panda Band from Perth have split after seven years and two albums.
That old chestnut “irreconcilable differences” has been cited as the reason for the break-up.
The Panda Band formed in 2003 and in November 2004 were selected for Triple J’s Fresh Crop. Their song ‘Sleepy Little Deathtoll Town’ made the Trip J Hottest 100 of 2004 at no. 73.
In 2005 The Panda Band toured overseas playing at The Aussie BBQ in Los Angeles, New York and in Austin for SXSW.
Their debut album ‘This Vital Chapter’ was released as an indie in 2006, followed by two more trips to SXSW in 2006 and 2007.
Their second album ‘Charisma Weapon’ was released in 2011.
Guitarist Chris Callan and drummer Scott Howard have already formed a new band called The Witches.
