The Pogues have announced a series of four U.K. shows for December where they will perform their second album, Rum, Sodomy & the Lash, in its entirety along with other favorites from their catalog.
Rum, Sodomy & the Lash was released in 1985 and called by critic Robert Christgau “the first one to prove that they were a great band, and not just a great idea for a band.” The majority of the tracks were written by band member Shane McGowan with additional contributions by Jem Finer, Ewan MacColl, Eric Bogle and Phil Gaston. In addition, there were three traditional songs. It reached number 13 on the U.K. Album chart and was ranked in the Rolling Stone 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.
