The Production Company Chairman Jeanne Pratt, Artistic Director Ken Mackenzie-Forbes and Executive Director Rachel Taylor have launched the 2014 season in a lavish function in Melbourne’s historic Raheen mansion.
The 2014 Production Company season will start on July 19 with ‘Guys and Dolls’, followed by ‘Showboat’ from August 16 and then ‘La Cage Aux Folles’ from November 22.
Now in its 16th year, The Production Company continues to attract some of Australia’s biggest stars of musical theatre for the Melbourne only performances.
‘Guys and Dolls’ will star Martin Crewes as Sky Masterson, Helpmann Award winner Verity Hunt-Ballard as Sarah Brown with Adam Murphy as Nathan Detroit and Chelsea Plimley as Miss Adelaide. Gale Edwards will direct the production.
‘Show Boat’ stars Alinta Chidzey as Megnolia, Gareth Keegan as Gaylord Ravenal and Christina O’Neill as Julie. Roger Hodgman is Director.
‘La Cage Aux Folles’ stars Simon Burke as Georges and Todd McKenney as Albin. Dean Bryant is the shows Director.
The Production Company encourages under 18s to experience the theatre and will continue its policy of half price tickets this season. “Last year we introduced half price tickets for anyone under the age of eighteen, an initiative I am pleased to continue,” Jeanne Pratt announced.
