When Lemmy Kilmister was in Los Angeles, he could often be found at the Rainbow Bar and Grill.

Lemmy, who died on December 28, 2015, lived just two blocks from the venue and spent much of his free time there drinking and hanging with many other artists who called the Rainbow home. The Rainbow held a memorial for Lemmy on January 9 which ended up extending to the entire

On Sunday, the Rainbow announced that they had commissioned a six-foot bronze statue of Lemmy from local artist Travis Moore which will be placed in the new “Lemmy’s Lounge” as they will be calling their patio area.

Also, in a salute to the Motorhead great, they will be placing his favorite stool in the lounge area.

Funds for the new statue are being raised through a YouCaring campaign where the original goal of $21,000 has recently been exceeded.

Lemmy played with Hawkwind from 1971 to 1975 before forming Motorhead with Larry Wallis and Lucas Fox. Neither of the other two initial members stayed with the band past 1976 which led to a line of band members that included Phil “Philthy Animal” Taylor, “Fast” Eddie Clarke, Michael “Wurzel” Burston and Lemmys bandmates at the time of his death, Phil “Wizzo” Campbell and Mikkey Dee.
