The Rolling Stones 50th anniversary year is yet to gather any real moment but at least there is some activity. A new logo has been unveiled.
“To commemorate their 50th anniversary the Rolling Stones commisioned Shepard Fairey to update their classic Tongue and Lips logo, originally designed by John Pasche in 1971”, a statement at RollingStones.com states.
The Rolling Stones take January as their anniversary month. Charlie Watts was the last member to join the band. That was in January, 1963.
The Stones were originally formed in April, 1962 with founding members Brian Jones, Keith Richards and Mick Jagger. Bill Wyman joined in December, 1962.
A 50th Anniversary book will be released next month. There has been no official word about any concerts for the Rolling Stones but Keith Richards has confirmed that he, Ron Wood, Mick Jagger and Charlie Watts will get together next month in London to plan what they will do next.
