The Rolling Stones have curated ‘Confessin’ The Blues’, a collection of the music that inspired their early days.

The album will raise money for Willie Dixon’s Blues Heaven Foundation.

Willie Dixon’s Blues Heaven Foundation would like to thank The Rolling Stones and BMG for their generous donation and their continued support of the Blues.

This charitable gift will assist Willie Dixon’s Blues Heaven Foundation with their continued endeavors promoting Blues music, as well as the ongoing preservation of the historic Chess Records building, where much of this music was recorded.

On behalf of Willie Dixon’s Blues Heaven Foundation, we thank you so very much!

Jacqueline Dixon, President/CEO of The Blues Foundation, said: “We are extremely honoured, grateful and humbled that Willie Dixon’s Blues Heaven Foundation has been included in such an astonishing project. It means so much that my father’s dream of creating an organisation that promotes, protects and preserves the Blues for future generations is being recognised and supported by artists that have achieved so much.”

Many of the songs featured in ‘Confessin’ The Blues’ were recorded by the Stones over the years. Many featured on their recent ‘Blue & Lonesome’ album.

“The first Muddy Waters album that was really popular was Muddy Waters at Newport, which was the first album I ever bought,” Mick Jagger said in a statement.

‘Confessin’ The Blues’ will be released on November 9.
